Hello Kitty plush toys recalled over possible choking hazard for young children

Thousands of Sanrio Hello Kitty plush toys are being recalled by Health Canada over a potential choking hazard.
The safety concern stems from the toys’ hard plastic noses, which Health Canada said can detach from the plushies and pose a choking hazard to young children. 
Between 2,000 and 3,000 of the stuffed animals have been sold in Canada by Treehouse Toys since 2018. No incidents or injuries have been reported in Canada. 
Ten Hello Kitty designs are included in the recall, with the full list of specifications and photos of each affected toy available on Health Canada’s website. 
Anyone who has one of the recalled stuffed animals should stop using it immediately and return it to the store where they bought it for a refund. For more information, consumers can also call Treehouse Toys at 587-990-8338 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the week or email them at [email protected].
